New Delhi: Student activist Sharjeel Imam, who is currently lodged in Tihar Jail, has approached a Delhi court seeking interim bail to contest next month’s Bihar Assembly elections, from Bahadurganj constituency.

Sharjeel has filed the bail petition before the Karkardooma Court’s additional sessions judge Sameer Bajpai, who has been hearing the Delhi riots conspiracy case, Bar and Bench reported.

He has sought interim bail of two weeks, from October 15 to 29.
