In these heavy times, we all need an outlet for escape. For some, that’s mindless late-night scrolling. Others tune out via trashy reality TV. For acclaimed Aussie actor and producer Rachel Griffiths, her distraction of choice is a good old history podcast.
“I go to sleep with the podcast We Have Ways Of Making You Talk — I think they are up to 850 episodes about World War II,” says Griffiths, who is chatting to PLAY via video call from her home in Sydney.
“I say to my husband, ‘Are you up for the Battle of the Bulge tonight, darling? We’ve got six episodes on that,’ and off we go.
“It really gets into the granular. When they are looking at, say, the Normandy landing, they’re looking at it from every angle; from (the perspective of) the German general back there, or from one guy from th
