NORFOLK, Va. — With cooler temperatures just around the corner, Columbia Gas of Virginia is reminding customers that applications for the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) open Tuesday, Oct. 14, and close Friday, Nov. 14.

The federally funded program, run through the Virginia Department of Social Services (VDSS), helps income-eligible households with one-time cash grants for home heating bills or emergency heating repairs. Crisis grants are also available for families who have lost heat or are at risk of doing so.
