Five youths between the ages of 12 and 15 have been arrested after an armed robbery involving a firearm in Oshawa, Ont., last month, said police.
On Sept. 5, officers responded to calls of a person with a firearm near William Lott Drive and Greenhill Avenue in Oshawa, said Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) in a release on Monday.
Police said they spoke with a cyclist at the scene, who said a group of youths had approached and started to assault him. The cyclist told officers that one of the youths pointed a firearm at him at one point.
The cyclists' belongings were stolen by the group before they fled the scene, said police.
On Wednesday, police arrested five youths from Oshawa: a 12-year-old girl, a 13-year-old girl, a 13-year-old boy and two 15-year-old boys.
