OLD SAYBROOK, CT (WFSB) – Old Saybrook was among the shoreline areas to see steady winds all morning long on Monday.

Residents in Middlesex County described the wind as constant and fierce, and the water as choppy.

A coastal storm would not let up.

“I love to walk. But today?” said Anne Fleming of Old Saybrook. “This is my favorite place to walk.”

Anne and Patrick Fleming braved the wind to see the Connecticut River.

“The tides have been running real high over the last few months. Very high,” Patrick Fleming said.

He said he had seen the water come up higher than normal.

“Oh yeah, way higher,” Patrick Fleming said. “I mean every once in a while, you’d get a real high tide; but all the time, it’s been high.”
