COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) - The South Carolina women’s basketball team was voted to finish first in the SEC for the regular season in the media’s preseason poll, the league’s office announced on Monday.

The Gamecocks are looking to win their fourth-straight regular-season conference title after splitting the championship with Texas last season.

Forward Joyce Edwards was also named to the First-Team Preseason All-SEC, while guard Ta’Niya Latson was named to the second team.

Edwards, a Camden native, was South Carolina’s leading scorer last season, averaging 12.7 points per game. She was third in rebounding with 5.0 per game. Edwards will be a sophomore this
