Menards stores in the Heartland collecting food for pantries

(KFVS) - Food pantries could be getting some help from home improvement shoppers in the Heartland.

Menards store locations across the region are set up to accept non-perishable food items that can be donated to food pantries.

According to the home improvement chain, there will be a large collection box near the exit doors at participating stores for customers to make their donations.

Locations in the Heartland include Cape Girardeau, Farmington, Marion, Mount Vernon, Paducah and Poplar Bluff.

The Menards Food Drive runs through October 31.
