ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) - As many St. Louis locals are starting the long process of rebuilding after the May tornado, the state’s Department of Commerce and Insuranc e (MDCI) has issued what they call a “stern warning” to insurance companies .

In short, the bulletin is designed to stop insurance companies from cancelling or not renewing insurance policies for homeowners in the middle of recovering from the damage of storms hitting Missouri in the spring.

“Simply put, policyholders should have sufficient time to complete necessary repairs without having to worry about finding replacement insurance coverage,” the bulletin states.
