A Delhi court on Monday refused to grant bail to Chaitanyanand Saraswati, accused of sexually exploiting female students. The court stated that when the number of victims is high, the gravity of the crime increases manifold.

Additional Sessions Judge Deepti Devesh of the District Court said during the hearing that there is no solid ground to grant bail at this time. His bail plea will now be heard on October 27. Until then, he will remain in judicial custody.

Chaitanyanand's lawyer claimed that he has been framed in a false case. Some female students were intimidated and threatened that if they did not complain, their scholarships would be cancelled.
