DARTMOUTH, Mass. —
Two people died after a small plane they were in crashed Monday morning on the median of Interstate 195 in Dartmouth, Massachusetts, and caught fire.
The plane that may have been trying to land at New Bedford Regional Airport crashed just after 8 a.m., Massachusetts State Police said.
Video from the scene showed the plane on fire on the median of the highway. It's not clear if any vehicles were involved, but a damaged car is visible on the median near the plane.
In addition to the victims who were on the plane, one person on the ground was also injured.
The victims' names have not been released.
Police said it does not appear that the pilot provided the airport with a flight plan or the number of people aboard the aircraft.
