Flagstaff Deputy Fire Chief Jerry Bills passed away on the evening of Thursday, Oct. 9, the city announced on Friday. Bills had spent 19 years as a member and leader of the Flagstaff Fire Department, and 40 years total as a firefighter.

“He was known not only for his leadership within the department, but also for his mentorship, his compassion for others, and his fierce loyalty to his fellow firefighters and community,” the city’s press release stated. Copy article link
