SENECA, S.C. —

A Laurens County, South Carolina, teen has died after she was involved in a crash while being pursued by deputies in Oconee County, according to the coroner's office.

Oconee County Coroner Karl Addis said Olivia Morgan Sanchez, 16, of Gray Court, was being pursued by deputies on Saturday night.

Addis said the pursuit started when deputies tried to pull over Sanchez on her motorcycle on Clemson Boulevard.

According to Addis, Sanchez crashed at 11:30 p.m. on Sheep Farm Road near Brook Lane.

Sanchez died Sunday night at Greenville Memorial Hospital.

She was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash and was the operator of the motorcycle with no passenger, Addis said.

Sanchez was a student at Laurens High School.
