Half of working dads still feel 'nervous' about requesting time off to look after their children, according to a survey of 5,000 working fathers. The research revealed that while 75% want to adopt equal parenting, many believe there is still a stigma attached to men taking leave from work for childcare.
When requesting time off for childcare responsibilities, one in five dads have faced questions such as "Where’s your wife/partner?" Others have been asked about the urgency of their request or told to arrange alternative care
