CINCINNATI (WXIX) - The newest member of the Cincinnati Zoo has a name.

Say hello to Mboka Jo!

The zoo announced the gorilla’s name Monday on Facebook .

Mboka Jo means community/village in Lingala, according to the Cincinnati Zoo.

Lingala is one of the languages spoken in the area where western lowland gorillas live, the zoo explained.

A new member has joined the Cincinnati Zoo’s Gorilla World after a fan favorite gorilla gave birth on Saturday, officials said.

On Sept. 20, Gladys, a 12-year-old gorilla, gave birth just after 8:30 a.m. to the 51st gorilla born to the Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Garden, according to a news release from the zoo.

“The team added the middle name ‘Jo’ to honor Gladys’ foster father & silverback, Jomo,” the Cincinnati Zoo wrote on Facebook .
