HIGHLANDS COUNTY, Fla. (WFLA) — Two "super speeders" were caught going over 100 mph over the weekend, according to the Highlands County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies said they were doing proactive traffic enforcement when they stopped two super speeders.

The first super speeder was in a minivan and clocked at 102 mph near US 27 and Hickory Branch Road in Venus around 2:30 p.m. Saturday, the sheriff's office said.

The driver was issued a criminal traffic citation and a mandatory court date.

Deputies said they did not take the driver to jail because her 16-year-old daughter was in the car with her.

On Sunday night, deputies said they caught another super speeder going 106 mph on State Road 17 near Cindi Lane in Avon Park.

The driver was arrested and his car was towed.
