Trouble at a former Derby police station where new homes will be built has cost a developer around £100,000, it is claimed. A Derby City Council planning meeting gave the go-ahead for 102 new apartments to be built at the former police base in Cotton Lane.
Councillors unanimously approved the plans after developer DCG Investments said they would create an “excellent opportunity” to regenerate a site which has been blighted repeatedly by anti-social behaviour .
The approval came following several public warnings by Osmaston councillor Sarah Chambers about the state of the building. She urged parents to keep an eye on their children with some using the “dangerous” building “as a playground”.
