That is possible. There is no clear cut answer when it comes to who pays the bills for a shooting survivor. Each circumstance is different and it may depend on where the shooting happened, the insurance of the victim, and how bad their injuries are.

A report from the Association of American Medical Colleges says more than 80,000 people each year survive firearm-related injuries. And there may be costs beyond the initial visit to the hospital, with some victims requiring pain management and psychiatric care for years after the shooting.
