CHARLEVOIX — The 46th annual Apple Fest in Charlevoix, Oct. 10-12, put the spotlight on Michigan’s most valuable fruit crop.
All along Bridge Street, you could find apples, apple pie, apple cake, apple cider, apple sandwiches and even heirloom apple hats.
The popular annual fall festival welcomed thousands over the weekend, with everything from an arts and crafts show to dancing witches to live music. On Saturday, kids enjoyed playing with bubbles, chalk and yard games, along with storytime, face painting, balloon art, a pie eating contest and much more.
Many varieties of apples were also available for people to sample and purchase from local farms. According to the Michigan Apple Committee , this year’s apple harvest is estimated to bring in 30 million bushels. Across the state there
