CityNews has learned more details about a shooting that left one woman critically injured in Surrey this weekend.

The Surrey Police Service responded to reports of shots fired at a home on 103A Avenue near Old Yale Road just after 2:30 a.m. Sunday.

“Officers arrived and BCEHS paramedics were administering life-saving medical intervention to an adult female who was inside the residence at the time and had suffered a gunshot wound,” Staff Sgt. Lindsey Houghton said.

“She was transported to hospital, where she remains in critical condition.”

The victim’s partner tells CityNews they had just said goodnight, and he’d gone to the next room, when he felt the vibration of the gunshots.
