Shamrock Rovers captain Roberto Lopes and his Cape Verde side have booked their place at next year’s World Cup after the African nation qualified for the first time in their history today.

Cape Verde have become the second-smallest nation to appear at a World Cup after defeating Eswatini 3-0 in their final qualifier this evening.
