The Cheyenne Animal shelter is caring for more than 75 animals, including dogs, cats, rabbits, chickens, small birds, and even a goat, who were found living in horrific conditions next to dead animals at a Cheyenne-area property Friday morning.
According to Niki Harrison, director of development at the shelter, many of the animals were found injured, sick, and severely neglected.
“Our team is heartbroken, but we’re ready to help,” said Harrison. “These animals have endured unimaginable suffering, and they deserve a chance at safety, healing, and love.”
Harrison says early estimates suggest medical treatment, food, housing, and long-term rehabilitation for the animals could reach $150,000.
