STILLWATER, Minn. (WFRV) – A Fond du Lac County man is celebrating a massive victory, literally, after taking home top honors at one of the nation’s largest harvest festivals.

Jim Ford of Eldorado claimed first place in the giant pumpkin weigh-off at the Stillwater Harvest Festival in Minnesota with a pumpkin tipping the scales at 2,491 pounds.

The festival, which draws growers and visitors from across the Midwest, also featured a variety of contests, including best chili, scarecrow design, and the popular pumpkin regatta.

River Market Coop won the best chili competition, AR Workshop earned first place in the scarecrow contest, and Noah Friedman, racing in memory of SPC Teddy Friedman, took home the top spot in the pumpkin regatta.
