LOS ANGELES – A 23-year-old man was wounded in a drive-by shooting in the Vermont Vista area of Los Angeles, authorities said Monday.

The shooting was reported at about 10 p.m. Sunday at 102nd and Figueroa streets, according to a desk officer at the Los Angeles Police Department’s Operations Center.

The man was walking down the street when a vehicle pulled up and multiple gunshots were fired at him, said the officer.

Paramedics took the wounded man to a hospital by ambulance where he had stable vital signs, the officer said.

A news videographer who went to the scene said officers found several shell casings in a parking lot near a cellphone store.
