LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Fayette County residents now have more control over their emergency notifications after officials upgraded to a new alert system Monday morning.
LEXALERTS, operated by Lexington Emergency Management, migrated all current users to new software called Regroup, which offers enhanced customization options for local weather notifications and other emergency alerts.
“The new system is easier for people to use, easier for us to use and its a far more cost effective system to keep people safe in Lexington,” said Emily Fay of Lexington-Fayette County Emergency Management.
