ROBESON COUNTY, N.C. (WBTW) -- A 15-year-old boy was shot and killed Saturday outside of Rowland, Robeson County Sheriff Burnis Wilkins said.

Cannan R. Scott of Pembroke was found dead at the scene at Highway 74 West and Hidden Valley Road just before 1 p.m.

The North Carolina Medical Examiner's Office is assisting homicide detectives with the investigation.
