Former Lostprophets lead singer and frontman Ian Watkins has died at the age of 48 after being attacked in prison, according to BBC .

Watkins had been serving a 29-year sentence since December 2013 at His Majesty’s Prison Wakefield in West Yorkshire, England after pleading guilty to 13 child sex abuse offenses.

West Yorkshire Police told BBC that two men aged 25 and 43 had been arrested on suspicion of murder after police responded to reports of a serious assault on a prisoner Saturday morning. Watkins was pronounced dead at the scene, according to BBC.

A spokesperson for the prison told BBC they were “unable to comment further while the police investigate.”
