SARASOTA, Fla. ( WWSB ) – On August 11, a Sarasota man pleaded no contest to staging a 2019 shooting that targeted paramedics and then trying to frame his nephew for the crime.
Sarasota Police said that on October 6, Tyran Young, 38, of Sarasota, was sentenced to 40 years, followed by 20 years of probation, after pleading no contest to two counts of aggravated assault on a firefighter, shooting into a vehicle, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, unlawful use of a two-way communications device, and misuse of 911.

During the trial, prosecutors said that in January 2019, Young used an automated 911 call to lure paramedics to a home on Goodrich Avenue.
