CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department is searching for the person who shot and killed a woman at a SouthPark apartment complex on Monday morning.

A lot of people who live and work in the area were shocked to hear that a deadly shooting had happened at the complex.

The shooting happened just before 7 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 13, off Barclay Downs Drive at an apartment complex near the SouthPark Mall.

The SouthPark Mall is just on the other side of the Hazel SouthPark Apartments.

Joe Capuano, who has lived for a few years in the building, said he moved here because it’s a quiet area. He said he would like to see more police to help deter any crime.
