A West Salem woman was sentenced to six years in state prison after pleading guilty to sealing mail and identification documents from at least 600 people and local businesses.

The woman, Ashley A. Wood, 32, was sentenced Friday, Oct. 3, in Polk County Circuit Court for over 30 counts of criminal charges connected to the scheme.

Wood pleaded guilty the same day to aggravated identity theft, mail theft, forgery, computer crime and possessing a forged instrument. She pleaded guilty to 25 counts of mail theft, according to court records.

Polk County Circuit Court Judge Norm Hill sentenced Wood to six years for aggravated identity theft with dozens of one and a half year sentences for mail theft to be served concurrently.
