PEORIA, Ill. (WMBD) -- Three teenagers were arrested after a 22-year-old suffered a gunshot wound to the head in South Peoria on Sunday afternoon.

Two 16-year-olds and a 17-year-old were arrested and taken to the Peoria County Jail on charges of possession of a weapon under 21, possession of a stolen firearm, and aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, said Peoria Police Department spokeswoman Semone Roth.

Officers with the Peoria Police Department were called at 1:24 p.m. to the 2300 block of West Antoinette Street to a 15-round alert from the ShotSpotter gunfire detection system, Roth said.

When on their way, officers learned that a 22-year-old had been shot in the head, and they began life-saving measures when they got there, she said.
