SPARTANBURG, S.C. (WSPA) – Some customers could soon lose access to Spartanburg Regional Health System (SRHS) offices due to a contract dispute with United Healthcare (UHC).
The current contract between SRHS and UHC is set to expire October 14 for people enrolled in UHC’s commercial and Medicare Advantage plans, and on December 31 for people enrolled in UHC Individual Family plans.
If the two companies cannot reach an agreement before the contracts expire, SRHS hospitals, facilities and care providers will be out of network for anyone with a UHC employer-sponsored plan beginning Tuesday.
In a statement to the public, UHC said they believe their company offers "market-competitive rates" to continue covering SRHS.
