Former Kissimmee Police Officer Andrew Baseggio was sentenced Monday after pleading guilty in a 2023 use-of-force case.
Baseggio was sentenced to nine months in the Osceola County Jail, 18 months of probation, followed by anger management classes in person. Baseggio is also sentenced to 50 hours of community service and restitution to the victim's family.
On Monday afternoon, Baseggio took the stand and apologized to the victim, the Kissimmee Police Department and his community.
The former officer was accused of entering a home without a warrant and using excessive force to take a man into custody, resulting in serious bodily harm.
Baseggio was first suspended, then removed from the force after a grand jury indicted him on six counts.
