RIVERTON — The United States has its eye on nuclear power — and Wyoming, with its rich deposits of the uranium used to fuel nuclear reactors and conditions that make it potentially attractive for manufacturers, is having its own conversations about the future of nuclear power and uranium mining.
At Copper Mountain, outside of Shoshoni, Myriad Uranium and Rush Rare Metals, both Canada-based companies, are looking to invest in the future of uranium in Wyoming, and have just recently received the green light from the Bureau of Land Management to drill potentially hundreds of exploratory holes looking for uranium and build relevant infrastructure.
Myriad has also obtained a U.S. Department of Energy/Bendix study concerning the Copper Mountain area from 1982, and in a recent press release not
