The Amarillo College Board of Regents called a special meeting Thursday, Oct. 9, to address the $2.3 million still needed to cover projects originally outlined in the 2019 bond issued for nearly $90 million.
AC Board President Jay Barrett brought the meeting to order to discuss the bond issue, which has covered multiple projects, several of them already finished:
First Responders Academy – new training facility for law enforcement, fire technology, and EMS at former J.C. Penney building on Plains Boulevard.
Student Service Center – meant to consolidate student service, combining admissions and financial aid into one central location to create a "one-stop-shop" experience, which involves renovating Russell Hall.
