ROCHESTER, Minn. — The Olmsted County Sheriff's Office says it took swift action after being informed of an issue with their Data Master Terminal (DMT), a device used to assess alcohol impairment. The DMT is shared with the Rochester Police Department and the Minnesota State Patrol and is vital for determining if individuals are legally fit to drive in Minnesota.
On October 10, the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA) notified the Sheriff's Office about a problem with a dry gas cylinder linked to the DMT. In response, the Olmsted County Sheriff's Office halted the use of the DMT and worked closely with the BCA to resolve the issue.
