ROCHESTER, Minn.-The United States Department of Agriculture's Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP) is still meeting the needs of seniors in need during the government shutdown, but distributors say if it goes past a month there may be issues retaining supplies.

According to the Minnesota Department of Health 12,000 seniors over the age of 60 use the program's free grocery services across the state with help from 200 distributors.

The program is meant to provide eligible seniors who make $23,400 a year or less with a free month's supply of groceries each month, the maximum income requirement increases by around $8,000 per household member.

One of the program's distributors in Rochester is Channel One Regional Food Bank.
