HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - The federal government shutdown has had little impact on travel at Hawaii’s airports, despite TSA and FAA shortages elsewhere in the country.
According to transportation officials, who, along with Gov. Josh Green, are praising federal workers for continuing to show up, even though they do not know when they will get their next paychecks.
In other parts of the U.S., the absence of air traffic controllers and TSA agents has led to flight delays and long security screening lines.
Essential federal workers are required to report to work during the shutdown.
