GALVESTON COUNTY, Texas (Gray News) – A man in Texas was attacked and killed by his two pit bull dogs Sunday, according to the Galveston County Sheriff’s Office.

Witnesses told deputies they saw the two dogs actively attacking the man in the yard.

The sheriff’s office said deputies saw one dog still latched onto the man’s arm when they got to the home.

According to authorities, a deputy shot the dog in an effort to stop the attack. The dog released the man and retreated to the corner of the yard.

The man was taken to a hospital where he later died from his injuries.
