TYLER, Texas (KETK) - A Tyler man was sentenced to 30 years in state prison on Monday for the 2023 murder of his brother, according to the Smith County Criminal District Attorney’s Office.
Lee-Autrey Jodeci “Jody” Morgan, 33 of Tyler, was arrested for murder on July 15, 2023, after his brother, Jaraine Tyrone Johnson, was found dead from multiple gunshot wounds in the backyard of a home on McKenzie Drive.
According to an arrest affidavit, Morgan was arrested as he was getting out of his truck at the Andrews Center after his father convinced him to turn himself in to the Tyler Police Department. His arrest affidavit reported that he told his father he shot his brother because he was “hearing voices.”
