COLLEGE PARK, Pa. — James Franklin is officially out of a job after more than 11 years at the helm of the Nittany Lions. Penn State's decision to fire the head football coach sent shockwaves through State College.

Nickolus Janack, a sophomore, liked Franklin but says it was a smart move by the university to make a change following three losses.

Penn State University Sophomore Nickolus Janack says, "I was kind of surprised but not really, cause everybody kind of already thought, there's been a lot of cheering about fire Franklin all of that stuff, but I mean not super surprised but definitely a little bit."
