PHILADELPHIA — On Monday, the Penn State Board of Trustees unanimously approved the sale of WPSU public radio and television stations to WHYY, a public media organization based in Philadelphia.

Originally, WPSU was set to close at the end of June due to financial challenges.

Now, to keep the station operational, WHYY will take WPSU under its umbrella for at least three years starting next summer.

Employees with WPSU will have the opportunity to interview for potential roles at the new combined station once the sale closes.
