ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - A teenager is in surgery after being shot outside a gas station overnight in southeast Atlanta, according to police.

The shooting happened outside a Shell gas station located on 2000 Flat Shoals Road around 10:30 p.m. Sunday. When officers arrived, they found a 16-year-old boy with a gunshot wound.

According to police, Grady EMS responded to the scene and took the teenager to the hospital for treatment. He was last reported to be in critical condition.
