HICKMAN, Ky. (KFVS) - Forensic experts have matched DNA samples from bones found in Hickman, Kentucky last month to a missing person case.

According to the Hickman Police Department, the remains were identified as Nicky Avent, who went missing in February.

Police said his remains were discovered on September 14 by someone driving an ATV in a rural part of town.

Several local law enforcement agencies and the coroner’s office investigated, and the remains underwent extensive forensic examination.

According to the medical examiner, there were no signs of foul play.

The Hickman Police Department said it will reconstruct the events leading up to Avent’s disappearance.
