CHESTER HILL, Pa. (WTAJ)--The Philipsburg-Osceola School District is implementing new security measures at the middle school after a student was found with an airsoft pistol and a knife last Friday.

The superintendent stated that through an investigation, they determined that the student did not have a plan to harm anyone, but acknowledged that bringing these items to school was a poor decision.

Starting Tuesday, school doors will open at 7:20 a.m. to allow additional time for staff to process students and their belongings. The school is also temporarily suspending the requirement for middle schoolers to change clothes for physical education classes to reduce the number of items that need to be checked.
