TAZEWELL COUNTY, Ill. (WMBD) -- The Tazewell County Health Department announced on Monday that it received a grant to help continue mental health courses.
The Community Foundation of Illinois awarded the health department $6,000 to continue to provide free Mental Health First Aid courses, a health department news release said.
Courses are available for both adult and youth mental health first aid, which teaches how to respond to adults and youth with mental health or substance abuse challenges.
The classes will help increase awareness and decrease the stigma surrounding mental health, while giving participants the tools they need to recognize and assist individuals experiencing mental health crisis.
