MARION — Just over two weeks after kicking off his 2026 gubernatorial run, Republican hopeful Darren Bailey and running mate Aaron Del Mar returned to Williamson County over the weekend to bring their message to the masses.

Bailey, who lost in 2022 in his bid to unseat Gov. J.B. Pritzker, made a morning stop Saturday at Riley’s Smokehouse in Marion as part of a Southern Illinois swing that also included events in Harrisburg and Salem.
