BINGHAMTON, N.Y. (WIVT/WBGH) - The 66th annual Columbus Day Parade took place this morning, and the festivities featured food, fun, and a little competition.

The parade started off with a bang, as the Annual Tournament of Marching Bands took place between five competing high schools, including Union-Endicott, Johnson City, Whitney Point, and two Pennsylvania schools in Williamson and Athens.

Whitney Point High School Band Director Katie Pullen says the students have been preparing for the tournament since before school started in August, and they felt great about their performance.
