A crash that left two people injured over the weekend led to one driver's arrest for vehicular assault, DUI and other charges.
Delaware State Police said an investigation determined that one driver went through a red light at Polly Drummond Hill Road and Paper Mill Road Saturday night at about 10:00 and collided with another vehicle.
According to police, that driver showed signs of impairment, and 32-year-old Tristan Proffitt of Hockessin was taken into custody.
Two men in the vehicle that was struck - a 40-year-old driver of Middletown and a 21-year-old passenger of Newark - were hospitalized with serious injuries.
Proffitt was arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court 11 and released on a $2,500 unsecured bond.
