The eighth week of Iowa high school football in 2025 is quickly approaching.

There were some exciting games in Week 7, headlined by Class 5A No. 1 Waukee Northwest defeating No. 10 and four-time defending state champion Southeast Polk, 38-7, No. 7 Sioux City East edging No. 4 Johnston, 21-17 and No. 3 Dowling Catholic posting a 30-14 win over Waukee.

Week 8 also has a slew of big games and potential thrillers.

The top games of Week 8 include 5A battles between No. 2 West Des Moines Valley and No. 6 Ankeny, No. 1 Waukee Northwest and Norwalk, Ankeny Centennial at No. 3 Dowling Catholic and No. 5 Johnston at No. 10 Southeast Polk. The metro area also features Des Moines East at Des Moines Lincoln, Ottumwa at Des Moines Roosevelt and Des Moines North at 4A No. 8 Gilbert.
