MONTROSE, Georgia — With a population of just over 200, a significant portion of Montrose is about to change hands.

13 parcels of land and buildings, ranging from vacant lots to residential homes and commercial warehouses, are set to be auctioned on Wednesday, allowing bidders to own multiple pieces of this Laurens County town.

The properties all belong to Trey Cottle, a local business owner known for running the Haunted Montrose attraction. While that business is not part of the sale, the rest of Cottle’s holdings in the town are up for grabs.

Brent Stephens, associate broker auctioneer at South Auction, said the parcels vary widely in size and use.
